ARLINGTON, Texas...The University of Texas at Arlington junior Brandon Mullen was named Southland Conference Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Rice Intercollegiate this past Monday and Tuesday, the conference announced today. Mullen, a Granbury native, shot rounds of 75, 71 and 75 for a 54-hole total of 221. He finished 10th individually in the event, leading the Mavericks to an eighth-place finish.

Two other SLC teams were in action this past week, and Mullen's 221 was the top score of any conference golfer. Texas-San Antonio joined the Mavericks in the Rice Intercollegiate field, while Southeasten Louisiana played in the Tulane Invitational.

The Mavericks return to action Feb. 28-March 2 at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
