HATTIESBURG, Miss. ...Anthony Estorga shot a third-round 70 to tie for seventh place at the Southland Conference Men's Golf Championship Wednesday, as The University of Texas at Arlington shot 294 on the final day of competition to finish seventh overall among the 10 SLC teams. Lamar won the tournament championship by two strokes.
Estorga, a senior who joined the Mavericks this year after playing his first three years at Texas Wesleyan, finished with a 54-hole 214 after shooting 72 in each of the first two rounds. The seventh-place finish gave Estorga seven top-15 finishes in the Mavericks' 10 tournaments over the fall and springs seasons.
Estorga was eight strokes behind tournament champion Chris Stroud of Lamar, who won his second SLC individual medal in three years. Stroud shot 71-65-70=206 to finish one shot better than Stephen F. Austin's Brian Grossman, who shot 70-71-66=207.

The Roadrunners finished at 848.
