HAGLUND COMPETES AT NCAA INDOORS

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Texas-Arlington senior distance runner Kasja Haglund will represent the Mavericks at the NCAA Indoor track Championships to be held at Randal Tyson Indoor tack here Friday.

Haglund will compete in the prelims at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The finals are 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Results will be available at http://www.ncaasports.com/indoortrack/womens.

Haglund returns to the NCAA Indoors after bettering her school-record time of 4:42.51 in the mile run during the March 4 NCAA Qualifiers Meet at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. She enters the meet with the 13th fastest time. Mississippi State's Tiffany McWilliams has the nation's fastest collegiate time of 4:355.91 heading into the two-day meet.

Haglund joins four other Southland Conference performers - Stephanie Sowell (Northwestern State), Caroline Wolfe and Tiffany Bunton (Texas State) and Ryanne Dupree (Texas-San Antonio) - to compete in the meet.

Haglund, a seven-time SLC champion, finished second in the Southland Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 21 with a time of 4:52.52.
