COLLEGE STATION, Texas - - Junior runner Daniel Noah finished in 14th place o help the Texas-Arlington men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational Meet on the University Golf Course here Friday.
UTA, ranked 10th in the region after the opening week, tallied 187 points. Host Texas A&M scored 29 points to win the event with Southland Conference member Sam Houston State second (85) and Lamar third (95). Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was fourth with 104, Texas A&M-Kingsville fifth with 110 and TCU sixth with 141.
After Noah, four UTA runners ran through the mid-90 degree temperatures within 40-secnds of each other. Freshman Sean Cross (28:28) placed 51st, Josh Smith (28:39) was 57th, freshman Hunter Garner (28:54) was 65th and veteran Davis Tagi (29:08) was 71st.
The rest of the team included: Chris Miller (29:51/81st), Jody Broccoli-Hickey (29:55/82nd) and Kevin Opp (30:23/86th).
