ARLINGTON, Texas - Seniors Ashley Van Antwerp and Melissa Marek both were rewarded for their outstanding accomplishments this season. Van Antwerp was named third-team all-conference by the Southland office on Wednesday morning. Marek was named COSIDA Academic All-District for her play on the court and performance in the classroom.

Van Antwerp (Colleyville, Texas) was second in the Southland conference in kills per game at 4.16. The outside hitter registered 21 games with double-figure kills and six games with 20+ kills. She also tallied 12 games with a double-double.

Marek (Cameron, Texas) was fifth in the Southland Conference in hitting percentage at .308. She also averaged 2.38 kills per game and 0.98 blocks per contest. Marek registered 10 games with double-digit kills.

The Texas-Arlington volleyball team enede its season with a 6-21 overall record and 4-14 conference record.
