HOUSTON, Texas - Competing in her first meet of the season, sophomore Tiffany Reeves launched the shot put 47-feet, 3.75-inches for second place and all-Southland Conference honors during the final day of the 2005 SLC Indoor Championships at the Bill Yeoman Fieldhouse on the University of Houston campus on Feb 19.
Reeves helped UTA to a fifth-place finish in the team standings with 74 points. Stephen F. Austin won the women's team title with 112.5 points, six more than Sam Houston State (106). Texas State was third (105) and Texas-San Antonio fourth (88).
Pole vaulter Lacey Moore cleared a personal-best 11-05.75 for third place and all-SLC honors.
Junior runner Ivorita Taylor clocked a 2:16.64 for second place in the women's 800 meters. The Mavs garnered 13 points in the 800 meters after Courtney Carter took fifth with a 2:19.01 and Carranda Mose finished eighth with a 2:20.09.
The distance medley team of Carter, Chelsea Huddleston, Taylor and Lisa Haglund earned all-SLC accolades with a time of 12:2.74 for second place.
