ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington women's basketball team will not have to travel far for its first ever NCAA Tournament contest as the Mavs will open up play at Reunion Arena in Dallas, the selection committee announced Sunday afternoon. UTA was selected as #13 seed and will take on #4 Texas Tech on March 19. Game times will be determined later on in the week.

UTA earned its first tournament bid by capturing the Southland Conference Tournament championship with a 60-54 victory over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday afternoon in Monroe, La. TT earned an at-large bid after going 22-7 on the season and reaching the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

The winner of the UTA-TT contest will play the winner of the Middle Tennessee State-North Carolina State game on Monday, March 21.
