AIKEN, S.C. - The UTA men's golf team overcame blustering weather conditions to join the University of Houston for the low round of the day to claim fourth place at The Cleveland Golf/Palmetto Intercollegiate Tournament Tuesday.
UTA finished the event 882, nine strokes behind co-champions South Carolina-Aiken and Houston. South Florida placed third with an 879. Southland Conference member Lamar was sixth at 891.
Jordan Krantz and Jeff Murray tied for fifth individually with three-round totals of 217. Both had even-par rounds of 71 on the final day. Zack Reeves tied for the low round of the day with a one-under-par 70 on the 6,380-yard course.
Marc Campbell had a 76 on the final for a 226 and Tyrone Mordt fired a 77 Tuesday to go along with his 78 and 74 a 229.
Bryan Baker, competing as a medalist, finished in the top 10 with three consecutive rounds of 73 to finish 219.
Houston's Jordan Irwin won the tournament with a 212.
UTA returns to action March 24 at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
