SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Freshman distance runner Jodi Hulett opened the 2005 outdoor track and field season with an impressive time of 10:36.30 to win the women's 3,000-meter run at the Whataburger/UTSA Relays at the Blossom Athletic Complex here Saturday.
Hulett, who earned all-SLC honors during the 2004 cross-country season, was one of four Mavericks to win events in the season opener.
Tiffanie Reeves won the shot put with a put of 45-10.75. Ivorita Taylor won the 800 meters with a 2:14.44 and Lacey Moore set a personal-best in the pole vault with an 11-01.75.
Other top performances include: Linda Rosema took second in the shot put with a 43-09.75. Reeves claimed fourth in the discus with a throw of 134-06.
UTA returns to action Saturday at the Michael Johnson Relays in Waco.
