NORMAN, Okla. - The UTA women's sprint relay team of Shana Rash, Kourtnee Jones, Ellen Garrison and Brittany Williams posted their fastest time of the the spring, a 45.71 to qualify for the upcoming NCAA regional meet and claimed fourth place at the John Jacobs Invitational Track and Field Meet here Saturday.
Junior pole vaulter Lacy Moore (Great Bend, Kan.) continued her streak of scoring points in every meet this spring with a vault of 3.35 meters for fifth place.
Sophomore Tiffany Reeves (Olney, Texas) claimed fourth in the women's shot put with a put of 13.45 meters. Sophomore Linda Rosema (Azle, Texas) took fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.80 meters.
Brittany Williams (Fort Worth, Texas) and Ellen Garrison (St. Louis, Mo.) posted season best times in the 200 meters with times of 24.54 and 25.13, respectively.
Kristina Bird (Keller, Texas) shaved more than three seconds off her season-best time in the 800 meters with a 2:17.88. Nicole Noel (2:18.71) and Caranda Mose (2:18.79) also posted season-best times in the 800 Saturday.
UTA returns to action Saturday at the TCU Invitational at Amon Carter Stadium. The Southland Conference Championships are May 13-15 in Huntsville, Texas.
