ARLINGTON, Texas - The annual UTA Invitational and the Southland Conference postseason tournament at Texas Hall highlight the 2005 Texas-Arlington volleyball schedule, released today by head coach Diane Seymour.

The Mavericks will open the season with an Aug. 27 match versus Prairie View A&M in College Station at the Texas A&M Tournament. For the second straight year the Mavericks will open Southland Conference play on the road with a Sept. 16 match at Texas-San Antonio. The following evening UTA will face off with defending tournament champion Texas State in San Marcos. UTA will begin the first of 10 league games at Texas Hall on Sept. 22 when it plays host to regular season co-champion Stephen F. Austin.

Conference home matches include: Sam Houston State (Sept. 23), Lamar (Oct. 14), McNeese State (Oct. 15), Texas-San Antonio (Oct. 21), Texas State (Oct. 22), Louisiana-Monroe (Nov. 4), Northwestern State (Nov. 5), Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 11) and Nicholls State (Nov. 12).
