FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - UT Arlington junior Jodi Hulett (Arlington, Texas) ran a time of 21-minutes, 13.9-seconds for a 31st-place finish at the 2006 Tyson/Chili Pepper Invitational here Saturday morning.
The UT Arlington women ran without freshman standout Ida Landgraff. The Mavericks finished 25th in the team standings with 664 points. Host Arkansas won the meet with 41 points. Duke (132), Texas Tech (134), Virginia Tech (168) and Baylor (179) completed the top five positions. SLC member Lamar was seventh with 287 points.
"I was extremely happy with the way we ran against our conference schools," said UTA Head Cross Country Coach John Sauerhage. "It is easy to get lost in the field and the great teams competing at the meet, but I thought we ran well against teams we will face at the conference meet.
"We have still yet to put a week together where all five participants run well. The next two weeks will be important for us as we get ready for the conference championship."
Caroline Erlingson (Angelhom, Sweden) continues to put together a solid fall season after a time of 21:13.9 for 111th. Pearland, Texas native, Carranda Mose (147th/23:01.2), senior Ivorita Taylor (228th/23:58.5) and freshman Christina Mose (24:47.2) rounded out the Mavericks' participants.
UT Arlington will compete at the 2006 SLC Championships, Oct. 27, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
