UT Arlington junior Jodi Hulett (Arlington, Texas) clocked a time for 21-minutes, 52-seconds for third place at the 2006 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships at the Pecan Acres Park here Friday.
Hulett's finish led the Mavs to a third-place team finish with 99 total points. She earned all-conference honors for the third consecutive season. Hulett's third-place finish was the best by a Maverick since Frida Rosenburg won the conference title in 1995.
"The women competed very well," said UT Arlington Head Cross Country Coach John Sauerhage said. "Carranda Mose had a great race and Jodi's third-place finish was just outstanding. We were one person short of second place, but I am happy with the way we competed."
The women's team ran without sophomore Caroline Erlington (Angelholm, Sweden), an all-SLC runner a year ago with an eighth-place finish, after she suffered an injury two weeks ago at the Chili Pepper Invitational.
Junior Carranda Mose (Pearland, Texas) just missed all conference honors with a 12th-place finish with a time of 23:23. Freshman Ida Landgraff (Oslo, Norway) finished 14th with a 23:35.
