UT Arlington junior cross county athlete Jodi Hulett was recently named to the NCAA Division I All-Academic Women's Cross Country Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Arlington, Texas native has a 3.7 GPA in kinesiology and was one of 76 individuals named to the list. To earn All-Academic individual honors, runners were required to have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
Hulett was named the Southland Conference Capital One Bank/Cross Country Women's Student-Athlete of the Year after finishing third at the SLC Championship to earn all-conference honors for the third consecutive year. From there she went on to qualify for the NCAA Championship by placing eighth at the Regionals in Waco, Texas. Her time of 20:53 over the 6,000-meter course was good enough to make her one of three SLC student-athletes to advance to the NCAA meet. She became the first UTA runner to advance to the NCAA Championship since 1998.
