The University of Texas at Arlington men's golf team finished sixth out of 17 teams at the Saint Mary's College Invitational on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in Pebble Beach, California at the Poppy Hills Golf Course.
The Mavericks finished with a three-round score of 868 (292-287-289) while University of San Francisco (855), University of Wisconsin (860), UC Santa Barbara (861), UC Irvine (864), and CSU-Northridge (867), rounded off the top-four.
Three of the five Mavericks finished in the top-25 out of 89 competitors in the tournament.
Junior Bryce Easton recorded a 54-hole tally of 213 (73-69-71) for a eighth place finish while Zack Fischer collected a 22nd place finish with a three-round score of 217 (77-69-71).
Junior Michael Van deVenter finished with a 54-hole tally of 218 (69-74-75) for a 23rd place finish while Bobby Massa collected 55th place honors with a three-round score of 224 (73-75-76) and Jamey Taylor recorded a 66th place finish with a 54-hole score of 227 (79-76-72), respectively.
The Mavericks will be back in action at the Squire Creek Invitational on Monday, Oct. 13 in Ruston, La.
