JL LEWIS INTERCOLLEGIATE FINAL RESULTS
New Braunfels, Texas - Zack Fischer fired rounds of 71 and 73 to finish in second place at the JL Lewis Intercollegiate Monday.
Fischer would have had a chance to win the tournament in Tuesday's final round, but with the threat of inclement weather moving into central Texas Monday night and into Tuesday, tournament officials and the head coaches decided to cut the tournament to just 36 holes.
"It would have been nice for Zack to have had a chance to win the tournament, but at the end of the day it was the right decision to cut the tournament short," UTA head coach Jay Rees said. "He played well today and I liked his chances tomorrow if we could have played."
Fischer finished just two shots behind North Texas' Peter Fallon who fired a two-round even par score of 142.
Bobby Massa finished in a tie for 11th place with a six-over score of 148. Wes Worster finished in a tie for 32nd at 14-over 156 while Donald Dowie was at +22 and finished in 49th. Trey Herring was in a tie for 52nd with a 24-over score of 166.
The Mavericks, as a team, finished in fifth place with a team score of 612. North Texas won the team title with a score of 585.
