UT Arlington Women's Basketball Game Preview

UT Arlington (5-18, 3-8) vs. Southeastern Louisiana (9-15, 4-7)

Series: UTA leads 16-5

Arlington, Texas -- The women's basketball team heads to Hammond, La., to face the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at University Center on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Saturday's contest will be the 22nd meeting between the two schools. UT Arlington leads the series 16-5, with the Lions defeating the Mavericks in February of 2011 in Arlington 66-57.

The Lions' Aja Gibson and Kelli Jenkins are both averaging in double figures in points, while also averaging a combined 10 rebounds per game.

"This game will be an opportunity for us to slide up the polls," UT Arlington head coach Samantha Morrow said. "Southeastern likes to press and it will be a defensive challenge for us, but I feel like we're up to the challenge."

Senior Bianca Sauls is leading the Mavericks averaging 7.0 points per game, while also grabbing almost 6 rebounds per game.

The Mavericks are looking to improve to .500 in February with a win.
