ARLINGTON, Texas - Coming off of a four-set victory over defending Sun Belt champion Little Rock, UT Arlington will travel to San Marcos on for a Tuesday matchup with in-state rival Texas State.

The match is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start with the Bobcats having compiled a 7-2 home record this season. UTA is 12-15 all-time in San Marcos with its last victory at Strahan Coliseum coming in 2007. Last outing for the Mavericks
In an intense four-set battle, it was ultimately the energy of UT Arlington that lifted the Mavericks over Little Rock on Saturday afternoon at College Park Center.

UTA held a small lead majority of the first set and pulled away with a late 7-1 run to win 25-19. The Trojans answered with a 20-10 advantage in the second until the Mavericks threw down eight straight points, including three kills from sophomore Qiana Canete, to steal the set 25-23. Little Rock claimed the third set 25-12, but UTA regained control early in the final set 10-5 and fought to grab the win 26-24.

The Mavericks out-hit the Trojans 58-39 and out-dug the team 74-55, while also hitting a more consistent .126. UTA improved to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The loss for the Trojans' is just the second in their last 28 Sun Belt matches and is their first two-game losing streak since the 2013 season. Little Rock evened their overall record at seven and dropped to 3-1 in conference.
