ARLINGTON, Texas - Coming off of a 2-1 weekend at the Pioneer Invitational in Denver, UT Arlington is set to host Abilene Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The Mavericks will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline on Tuesday night as Abilene Christian's coach Jason Bibler served as an assistant coach under UTA's Diane Seymour during the 2013 campaign. Bibler helped lead a UTA squad that went 19-15 overall and lost to Texas State in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship match.

"Jason is going to have them prepared, no doubt," UT Arlington coach Diane Seymour said. "They were a lot better this spring when we played them. They have played some really tough competition, but I know they feel a lot better about themselves this year versus when we played them last year. We've got to be ready to play."

The Mavericks past week was an impressive one as it included a 3-1 record and a Sun Belt Freshman of the Week honor. Zhanelle Geathers picked up the Sun Belt honors with her strong play over the past week, averaging 2.27 kills and 1.47 blocks per set in matches against North Texas, Denver, Villanova and Air Force. The most dominating effort for the Lindale native came in the Mavs four-set win over Villanova as she accumulated career highs with 12 kills and 7 blocks.

Seymour also reached a career milestone over the weekend as she notched her 180th victory as the Mavericks coach. The 180 wins for Seymour ties Janine Smith who served as the UTA head coach from 1994-2003. Seymour served as an assistant coach under Smith from 1996-2003. The former UT Arlington player has also amassed a total of 453 wins during her time at UT Arlington, 334 as a coach and 119 as a player.

"We were talking about it earlier that I've spent half of my life here at UTA," Seymour said. "I played here for five years and now I'm in about year 20 as a coach and I'm about to turn 50. So I've spent about half my life dedicated to UTA. It does mean a lot, but my only regret is all the losses."

Tuesday night's match will also serve as a luau theme night. All Mav 1000 students get in free and are invited to a tailgate with free food starting at 4:30pm on the Green behind the College Park Center.
