ARLINGTON, Texas -
After claiming the NISC Conway Regional with three consecutive wins, UT Arlington will head west to the Championship Round hosted in Los Angeles, Calif. at Loyola Marymount.

UTA (30-26) gets underway on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT against host Loyola Marymount (31-24-1), while UC Riverside (36-22) and Eastern Kentucky (43-20) play at 3:30 p.m. CT. The Mavericks ran through the Conway Regional with an opening run-rule win against host Central Arkansas, and took care of Texas Tech in back-to-back games with a strong offensive performance in each. Winning 30 games, UTA clinched having at least 30 wins in a season in back-to-back years for the first time since 2007.

Reagan Wright was named the MVP of the region, leading the Mavericks with a .500 batting average, knocking four hits, scoring three runs and driving in two. Wright joined teammate Laura Curry as one of two Mavericks named to the NFCA All-Region team, announced last Thursday. Curry featured a grand slam in the regional on the way to an all-tournament selection with teammates Randi Phillips, Sandra Mendoza and Wright.

The winners of Wednesday's opening game will meet on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. CT with a chance to reach the championship game, while the loser's meet earlier at 12 p.m. CT in an elimination game. UTA and LMU will be meeting for the fourth time in series history, the last coming in 2007. LMU leads with a 2-1 series lead with matchups taking place in 2006 in Hawaii and 2007 in New Mexico.
