ATLANTA, Georgia – The UT Arlington softball team (14-11, 4-1 SBC) fell to the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday, 7-6 after the Panthers rallied from two runs down.

Four pitchers combined to toss six innings, with
Randi Phillips picking up the loss in the contest. The Mavs offense finished with 13 hits, with four players coming up with multiple hits.

The Mavericks offense started off where it left off the night before, taking an early lead in the first inning. Â
Aileen Garcia drove in the first run of the inning with a single to left field to score

Reagan Wright pushed Garcia across the plate with a single of her own.

UTA pushed their lead to three runs in the third with an RBI ground out by Garcia to score
Laura Curry, but the Panthers answered in the bottom frame with a three-run home run to tie the game at three.

The Mavs wasted no time to regain the lead in the fourth inning, scoring two more runs off a double from
KJ Murphy to make it a 5-3 game.

The fifth and sixth innings belonged to the Panthers, scoring four runs over the course of the two innings to take a 7-5 lead.  A fielding error in the bottom of the sixth was the deciding run given up.

Shelbi Court put the Mavs within one run with a single to centerfield, but UTA could get no more, falling 7-6.
