Davis played her first season at NCAA Division II Azusa Pacific. She is the eighth newcomer on the 2019 women's volleyball roster. Davis will join UTA's seven incoming freshmen when practice starts up in August. UTA's 2019 class, which was given High Honorable Mention honors by PrepVolleyball.com, features
Danielle Dion (Plano East / Richardson, Texas),
Meredith Fisher (Wichita Falls, Texas / Rider HS),
Devon Martinka (Stanwood, Wash. / Stanwood HS),
Jessica Stancliff (Carrollton, Texas / Hebron HS);
Allison Wells (Waxahachie, Texas / Waxahachie HS),
Megan Walsh (Grand Rapids, Minn. / Grand Rapids Senior HS);
Gabriele White (Lewisville, Texas / Flower Mound HS).
"We are excited for Chase to join our program, as she will add an additional dimension to our program," said Wenger. "As a setter, she has great location and understands the game very well. She brings with her a dynamic serve and collegiate experience that will add to our gym immediately."
The Mavs are coming off a 16-12 season, where they finished 9-7 in Sun Belt play and earned the No. 5 seed in the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championships. UTA defeated No. 8 Troy in the opening round, but fell to No. 4 seed Little Rock (25-16, 25-18, 25-21) in the quarterfinal round.
