ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTA Volleyball team recently took time out of its busy preseason schedule to visit a trio of retirement homes in the Arlington area. The squad split into groups and went to visit three retirement communities (Mountain Creek Retirement, Revere Court of Arlington, The Summit).

On Tuesday, August 13, the Mavericks spent a couple hours during lunch at their assigned retirement home. The team interacted and laughed with residents and even participated in an arts and crafts activity. 

The Mavs are coming off a 16-12 season, where they finished 9-7 in Sun Belt play and earned the No. 5 seed in the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championships. UTA defeated No. 8 Troy in the opening round, but fell to No. 4 seed Little Rock (25-16, 25-18, 25-21) in the quarterfinal round. The Mavericks led the Sun Belt in digs per set (16.04) and ranked in the top-5 in four other categories (assists per set, winning percentage, opponents hitting percentage, team attacks per set).

The Mavs host Dallas Baptist in an exhibition at College Park Center on Aug. 23 (6:30 pm) and the 2019 regular season gets underway Friday, Aug. 30 when UTA faces Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and LSU on Day 1 of the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup hosted by the University of Houston.

SINGLE-MATCH TICKETS ON SALE
UTA Volleyball single-match tickets are now on sale for the 2019 season. Single-match tickets are general admission and are $6 for fans over the age of three, while children two and under get in free.

SEASON TICKETS ON SALE
Season tickets for the upcoming 2019 UTA volleyball season are officially on sale with general admission seating available for $25. The $25 cost (less than $2 per game) is a 50% drop in price from last season.
