LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The UT Arlington volleyball team (5-12, 3-5 Sun Belt) pick up its second straight victory on Saturday night, defeating Little Rock in four sets, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-17.
The Mavericks finished with 56 kills, led by
Brianna Ford's 16 kill performance.
Devon Martinka added nine kills.
Mollie Blank (22 assists) and
Kylee Kapp (20 assists) paced the match for the Mavericks, while
Alli Wells had 10 assists.
Wells also led the Mavericks with 28 digs to pick up her first double-double od the season.
Devon Martinka (3 blocks) led UTA at the net, while Ford (2 blocks) and LaFleur (2 blocks) both had multi-block performances.
SET 1 | UTA 25, LR 23 | UTA LEADS 1-0
The Mavericks hit .294 in the first set and finished with 14 kills. After Little Rock scored the first point, UTA scored three straight points to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Trojans tied the set at 21 but kills from
Brianna Ford and
Brooke Townsend gave the Mavs the push to end the set.
SET 2 | UTA 22, LR 25 | MATCH TIED 1-1
Briana Brown tied the set at seven, but the Trojans went on an 11-3 run to take an eight-point lead. The Mavericks used five Little Rock errors to cut the lead to two points at 22-24, but a block on an attack from
Brianna Ford ended the set.
SET 3 | UTA 25, LR 18 | UTA LEADS 2-1
With the set tied 10-10, the Mavericks went on a 6-2 run to take a four-point lead. The Mavericks pushed their lead to seven after back-to-back kills from
Brianna Ford. The set ended with back-to-back ball handling errors by the Trojans to give the Mavs a one-set lead.
SET 4 | UTA 25, LR 17 | UTA WINS 3-1
The Mavericks led from the beginning in set four. Leading 8-7, a block by
Brianna Ford started a 10-2 run by UTA to give the Mavs a commanding 18-9 lead. The teams traded points for the remainder of the set to give UTA the win.

UTA returns to Arlington to take on App State (Oct. 22) and Coastal Carolina (Oct. 23) next weekend in the College Park Center.
