INSIDE THE SCORES
- Gonzalez started her 1st round on hole 14 and made three birdies and three bogeys en route to the even-par 72. She was unable to convert a below-par hole on her 2nd round.
- Tan opened on hole 8 and made three birdies in her 1st round, including back-to-back on holes 1 and 2. However, she made just one in her 2nd round.
- Murray was nearly identical to Tan as she rolled in three birdies on her 1st round as well and two in the 2nd round.
- Garber – who started on the 7th – birdied three of her first five holes on the back 9 and posted a 2-under 34 on that side in her 1st round, but a trio of doubles on the front set her back. She did not register a birdie in her 2nd round.
- Howard began on the 9th and played the back 9 (her front side) in 5-over 41, but settled down nicely with a front-9 37. Continuing the trend for the Mavs, she was unable to make a birdie in her 2nd round.
- Tran posted a pair of birdies in both of her rounds, but a few big numbers derailed her opening-day performance.
THIS AND THAT
- UTA had 12 birdies in the 1st round and just five in the 2nd round as every member of the team recorded a worse 2nd-round score than the 1st round.
- The 17 birdies for the Mavs are the 6th most in the field; however, their 94 pars through 36 holes are the 2nd fewest.
