DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The UT Arlington women's golf team completed the opening round of the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship on Sunday from LPGA International's Hills Course in 11th place with a 319 total.
Sydney Garber led the Mavericks with a round of 78, including UTA's only two birdies of the day as she resides in a tie for 35th with two rounds remaining on Monday and Tuesday.

All of UTA's five members started the morning on the 10th hole, and Garber birdied the par-4 18th and par-5 8th as the senior shot an even-par 36 on the front side (her back) to close the day on a strong note.

- Gonzalez led the Mavs and tied for 9th in the 55-player field on Sunday in par-3 scoring average at 3.00.
- Adams and Gonzalez both paced UTA with 12 pars for the day.
- All but two holes on the par-72, 6,193-yard Hills Course layout played over par for the opening round.
- Texas State (279) holds a five-shot lead over Coastal Carolina (284) entering 2nd-round action.
