ARLINGTON – A new era of UT Arlington athletics is set to begin this fall, as head volleyball coach J.T. Wenger announced the team's 2022 fall schedule on Monday morning. The Mavericks are set to play 12 non-conference matches and 14 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matches in their first year in the league.

"We are very excited about the 2022 schedule," Wenger said. "We have constructed a competitive and varied non-conference slate that will help prepare us for the challenges of the Western Athletic Conference.  It will be a new experience in the WAC, and we are eager to compete this fall."
 
Fans will get their first glimpse of the 2022 squad on Friday, Aug. 19^th as the Mavericks will play a preseason exhibition match against Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m. inside the College Park Center.
 
UTA will begin the regular season on the road, traveling to Missoula, Mont. for the University of Montana's season kick-off invitational (Aug. 26-27). The Mavericks will take on UC Davis (Aug. 26), Montana (Aug. 26) and North Dakota (Aug. 27) while in Missoula.
 
The Mavericks will host their home opener on Sept. 2 as part of the annual UTA Classic (Sept. 2-3) against Texas A&M Commerce, which will be competing in its first season as a Division-I member. They will also take on Providence (Sept. 3) and North Texas (Sept. 3).
 
UTA will take part in two other tournaments before conference play begins – The UTSA Tournament (Sep. 9-10) in San Antonio and the UTA Invitational (Sept. 16-17) hosted by the Mavericks in the College Park Center.
 
The first WAC match for the Mavs will be on the road, traveling to Nacogdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 24.  The WAC home opener will take place against California Baptist on Thursday, Oct. 6.
 
UTA will be on the road for WAC contests against Abilene Christian (Sept. 29) Tarleton State (Oct. 1), Utah Valley (Oct. 13), Seattle (Oct. 15), Incarnate Word (Oct. 27) and UTRGV (Oct. 29).
 
The Mavericks will host WAC matches against Grand Canyon (Oct. 8), Lamar (Oct. 20), Sam Houston (Oct. 22), New Mexico State (Nov. 5), Utah Tech, formerly Dixie State (Nov. 10) and Southern Utah (Nov. 12).
 
The 2022 WAC Tournament will take place Nov. 17-19 and will be hosted by UTRGV in Edinburg, Texas.
