UTA's Boyd Honored With Thirty Under 30 Selection

New Orleans native joins Sean Ehlbeck as one of two all-time Mav recipients.

ARLINGTON, Texas --- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Monday the Thirty Under 30 honorees for the 2022-23 season, and UTA's KaeLynn Boyd was named to the list.

Boyd joins 2021 honoree, Sean Ehlbeck, as one of two all-time honorees from UT Arlington in the eight-year history of the award. Ehlbeck recently completed his first season as an assistant coach at Boston College after two years in Arlington. For a full list of this year's honorees, visit here.

A New Orleans native, Boyd recently completed her third season on the staff with the Lady Mavs after being promoted to assistant coach in the summer of 2022. Prior to that, she had one-year stints as the director of operations (2021-22) and graduate assistant manager (2020-21).

"Congratulations to these 30 coaches who have distinguished themselves so early in their careers," WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew said. "The WBCA is pleased to recognize this up-and-coming talent in our coaching family. We celebrate their effort on the basketball court as teachers and equally applaud the extensive role they play in impacting the lives of their student-athletes."

Before coming to UTA, Boyd served as an assistant coach at Jacksonville College (2019-20) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (2018-19). She also led the St. Helena High School program from 2016-18, where she guided the team to its first playoff season in decades.

As a player, Boyd played three seasons for UTRGV before graduating from Southeastern Louisiana in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.
