ARLINGTON, Texas – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Thursday the Thirty Under 30 honorees for the 2023-24 season, and UTA's
KaeLynn Boyd was named on the list for the second year in a row.
Boyd joins 2021 honoree, Sean Ehlbeck, as one of two all-time honorees from UT Arlington and the only UTA honoree with multiple selections in the nine-year history of the award. Ehlbeck recently completed his second season as an assistant coach at Boston College after two years in Arlington. For a full list of this year's honorees, visit

A New Orleans native, Boyd recently completed her fourth season on the staff with the Lady Mavs after being promoted to assistant coach in the summer of 2022. She helped engineer the Lady Mavs best season in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) with the most regular season WAC wins with 11 and winning two games at the conference tournament, the programs first two WAC tournament wins, in their three seasons in the WAC. Prior to that, she had one-year stints as the director of operations (2021-22) and graduate assistant manager (2020-21).
"Congratulations to these 31 coaches who have distinguished themselves so early in their careers," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The WBCA is pleased to recognize this up-and-coming talent in our coaching family. We celebrate their effort on the basketball court as teachers and equally applaud the extensive role they play in impacting the lives of their student-athletes."
Before coming to UTA, Boyd served as an assistant coach at Jacksonville College (2019-20) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (2018-19). She also led the St. Helena High School program from 2016-18, where she guided the team to its first playoff season in decades.
As a player, Boyd played three seasons for UTRGV before graduating from Southeastern Louisiana in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.
