CARROLLTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's golf senior Daniel Cronje earned his first tournament win on the eighth playoff hole to highlight the North Texas Intercollegiate Tournament at Maridoe Golf Club.Â

INSIDE THE SCORESÂ
CRONJEÂ
The playoff win was the end of another impressive round for Cronje, who came out on fire on the par-72, 7,388-yard layout. Beginning the day in third place and opening play on the sixth hole with a shotgun start, Cronje birdied the par-4 opening hole and the par-3 eighth to move into first place. After bogeying the par-4 10th, he bounced back with a birdie on the par-3 14th to take a two-shot lead into the second nine. However, bogeys on his 16th and 17th holes (par-3 third, par-4 fourth) tied the score before a par on par-4 fifth led to the playoff.Â
Among the field, Cronje tied for the lead in par-3 scoring (2.75), tied for second in par-4 scoring (4.03), and was fourth in pars (40).Â
BECKÂ
Beck's two-over 74 was his best round of the tournament. He began play with a birdie on the par-4 ninth and shook off a pair of bogeys on 12 and 15 with back-to-back birdies on the par-5 16th and par-3 17th to complete the first nine. Beck closed a trio of bogeys on his second nine and carded 10 pars on the round.Â
MIYAÂ
Like Beck, Miya also birdied the 16th and was one of four Mavericks to birdie the sixth hole. Miya recorded eight pars and seven bogeys during the final round. Â
KANTHÂ
Kanth posted a red number on the sixth, his only birdie of the day, along with 12 pars (six on each nine) and three bogeys. Â
MILLERÂ
After a slow start on the opening nine, Miller was three shots better on the second nine, highlighted by birdies on the par-4 fourth and the par-3 eighth. He completed the round with nine pars and four bogeys. Â
GRIESSELÂ
Griessel birdied three holes in every round of the tournament. Opening on hole 13, he came out firing with birdies on the par-4 13th and the par-3 14th and added a final red number on the par-4 sixth. Griessel tallied seven pars and seven bogeys on Tuesday.Â
CHEVALIERÂ
Chevalier carded birdies on the par-5 second and the par-5 11th, his seventh and 16th holes of the day, respectively. Chevalier made eight pars and six bogeys on the day.Â
