PAYCON, Ariz. - Daniel Cronje posted a third-place finish to lead the UT Arlington men's golf team in the WAC Championship at The Golf Club at Chapparal Pines.
During Sunday's final round, Cronje shot one-over 73 and completed the 54-hole event at 3-under par 213.
UTA fell off the pace during the final round, finishing seventh at 28-over 892.

A double bogey on the par-5 seventh was the only blemish on an eight-par opening nine for Cronje. After a par on 10 and a birdie on 11, Cronje responded with birdies on the par-5 12th and par-5 14th to move back up the leaderboard. However, a bogey on 15 took Cronje out of title contention. He completed the round with a birdie on the par-5 17th sandwiched between a pair of pars.

Cronje led the field in par-3 scoring with a 3.82 average and tied for second in the field with nine birdies.
KANTH

Kanth had three birdies and 10 pars on the closing 18. On the front nine, he birdied the par-4 third and the par-5 seventh. During the closing stretch, Kanth birdied the par-5 14th while finishing the round with four bogeys.

Kanth was fourth among all players with 26 pars.
