PAYCON, Ariz. - Daniel Cronje posted a third-place finish to lead the UT Arlington men's golf team in the WAC Championship at The Golf Club at Chapparal Pines.  

During Sunday's final round, Cronje shot one-over 73 and completed the 54-hole event at 3-under par 213.  

UTA fell off the pace during the final round, finishing seventh at 28-over 892.

INSIDE THE SCORES 

CRONJE 

• A double bogey on the par-5 seventh was the only blemish on an eight-par opening nine for Cronje. After a par on 10 and a birdie on 11, Cronje responded with birdies on the par-5 12th and par-5 14th to move back up the leaderboard. However, a bogey on 15 took Cronje out of title contention. He completed the round with a birdie on the par-5 17th sandwiched between a pair of pars.  

• Cronje led the field in par-3 scoring with a 3.82 average and tied for second in the field with nine birdies. 

KANTH 

• Kanth had three birdies and 10 pars on the closing 18. On the front nine, he birdied the par-4 third and the par-5 seventh. During the closing stretch, Kanth birdied the par-5 14th while finishing the round with four bogeys.  

• Kanth was fourth among all players with 26 pars. 

BECK 

• Beck made two birdies on both the first and second nine along with eight pars on the round. Beck started fast with birdies on the par-5 second and par-4 third holes before three bogeys over the final six holes. On the closing nine, Beck birdied the par-5 12th and the par-5 14th. 

MIYA 

• Miya managed only one birdie on the opening nine, that coming at the par-3 sixth in finishing 5-over before making the turn. Miya finished the round with birdies on the par-5 14th and the par-4 15th. He finished tied for seventh in the field with 24 pars.  

MILLER 

• Miller played the final round for the Mavericks, carding his lone birdie on the par-4 10th. He had eight pars and seven bogeys during the round.
