Caleb Hicks complete is first 72-hole event on the Korn Ferry Tour Sunday in the Veritex Bank Championship at the Texas Rangers Golf Course.
Hicks completed the championship at six-under par 278, completing three of the four rounds under par.
Hicks shot five-over 76 on Sunday, beginning play on the par-5 10
th hole. He shot even par 36 on the opening nine with three birdies and three bogeys. Shaking off bogeys on 11 and 12, Hicks had four birdies in a five-hole stretch on his sixth-10
th holes of the day. He birdied the par-3 15
th and the par-4 16
th before bogeying the par-4 17
th. Hicks then birdied the par-5 18
th, and then made the turn with a birdie on the par-4 first hole.
Hicks ran into trouble late in the round, with a double bogey on four and a bogey on five. He recovered to birdie the par-4 7
th. However, an errant drive on the eighth hole led to a score of eight on the hole.
Hicks showed resilience to finish the round and the week, getting on the green in two on the par-5 ninth. He finished with par to cap his first made cut on the Korn Ferry Tour in his hometown.
