HOUSTON - UT Arlington's men's golf team opened competition with rounds one and two of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic from Westwood Golf Club in Houston on Monday. The Mavericks shot a combined 589, and between the two rounds, the first was their best, at 290.
Sophomore
Michael Chevalier (-1) paced the Mavs on day one, firing a two-under 70 in the opening round, while carding a one-over 73 in round two to close out his day.
Chevalier birdied twice in round one, on Nos. 10 and 16 on his way to a three-over 75, while bettering his performance in round two. He eagled No. 18 in his first round, and birdied twice, on Nos. 3 and 6. In his second round, the Grapevine, Texas, native birdied No. 17, and finished with 15 pars.

UT Arlington is back in action Tuesday morning for the third and final round of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic with tee times set for 8:10 a.m. CT.
Trent Griessel, who is competing as an individual is scheduled to tee off at 7:40 a.m.
