MARICOPA, Arizona – UT Arlington's men's golf concluded day one with just two holes remaining in their second round at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, hosted by Wyoming from the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona. Diego Nuno paced the Mavs, shooting 3-under.
Nuno, who will enter the final day of competition Tuesday in a tie for 17
th place individually, fired a one-under 71 in the first round. He birdied on four occasions, on Nos. 1, 2, 10 and 14, respectively. He also parred 11 holes in the opening round. Through 16 holes of round two, the Puebla, Mexico, native is two-under par. He has birdied five times, on Nos. 5, 9, 10, 14 and 16, while carding pars on seven holes thus far.
Ethan Miller also fired a round under par in the opening round for the Mavericks, with a one-under 71. The Austin, Texas, native is also through 16 holes in his second round, but is currently six-over and is five-over for the event thus far.
Round two will conclude on Tuesday morning at the par 72 course, while the third and final round will commence shortly thereafter, also on Tuesday. The end of round two will get started at 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. UTA currently sits 21st at 15-over.
