Lady Mavs Use Balanced Attack to Beat Utah Tech, 64–56

ARLINGTON, Texas – In front of a Blue Out crowd at College Park Center, UT Arlington women's basketball (7–10, 1–4 WAC) earned its first Western Athletic Conference win of the season with a 64–56 victory over Utah Tech (6–9, 1–4 WAC) on Saturday night.

Mila Reynolds led all scorers with a season-high 17 points, her highest-scoring performance in a Mavs uniform. Reynolds finished 7-of-13 from the field and added seven rebounds to anchor UTA's offense.

UT Arlington held a 33–29 advantage at halftime, closing the second quarter with defensive stops and timely baskets to take control heading into the break. The Lady Mavs continued to build on that momentum in the third quarter, matching Utah Tech point for point while maintaining control. 

The Lady Mavs spread the scoring load, as Alexsyah Goudeau scored a season-high 10 points, Amiyah Reynolds added a season-high nine points and seven rebounds, Kira Reynolds contributed nine points and four rebounds, and Kendal Robinson chipped in eight points and three assists. 

UTA finished the night shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down seven threes. The Lady Mavs also forced 24 Utah Tech turnovers, converting them into 24 points off turnovers, while recording 14 steals on the night.

Defense proved to be the difference, as UTA forced 24 Utah Tech turnovers and converted them into 24 points off turnovers. The Lady Mavs also recorded 14 steals, disrupting Utah Tech's offensive rhythm throughout the contest.

Utah Tech was led by Kaylee Borden's 23 points, but UTA's defensive execution down the stretch closed the door as the Lady Mavs secured a statement win at home.
