THE WOODLANDS, Texas – UT Arlington women's golf wrapped up its first day in the Texas Golf Throwdown. The Mavericks completed the first two of three rounds at the event, with the tournament set to conclude on Tuesday.

UTA ended the day in fifth place after posting a 33-over-par 609.

Nitisha Manikandesh is the current top of the leaderboard for the Mavericks. The senior placed 19th overall after finishing with a 7-over 151 for the day. Manikandesh posted the lowest score in a round for the Mavericks, a 1-over 73 round two that saw her finish 1-under-par on the back nine. 

Not far behind Manikandesh is Nirjara Gulhane who posted rounds of 78-75– 153. The junior is tied for 25th. Gulhane birdied four holes in the second round, the most for any UTA player in a round. 

Tarini Bhoga is one stroke back of Gulhane, finishing with a 10-over 154 through two rounds. Bhoga is in a tie for 30th and carded a strong 2-over 74 in the second round.

One stroke back of Bhoga was Chandler Browning, who sits in a tie for 33rd. Browning recorded scores of 79-76– 155 on day one. Kamri Gabel rounded out the UTA lineup with a 14-over 158. Gabel is in a tie for 44th.

The Mavericks are scheduled to tee off their final round at 9 a.m. Tuesday at The Woodlands Country Club. Live scoring and tournament information can be found on scoreboard. FOLLOW ALONG
