For The Sixth Straight Year, UTA Student-Athletes Set A Program Record For Graduation Success Rate
Dr. Courtney Burken joined UTA Athletic Academics department in 2012. In this capacity she works directly with the male and female basketball and volleyball teams for academic and career success. She also coordinates the athletic tutoring program.
She has spent more than 20 years as an educator and as a certified and state licensed athletic trainer. Previously she has held positions at Lakewood Orthopedics, University of Mary Hardin Baylor, University of Texas at Arlington, Emporia State University, Dodge City Community College, and the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
She has a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education from Truman State University, a Masters in Educational Administration, Sports Administration from the University of Nebraska, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Library and Information Management from Emporia State University.
