Jarred Jackson enters his first year with the UT Arlington men’s basketball staff in 2018-19 as director of operations under head coach Chris Ogden.
Previously a graduate assistant at Texas Tech University, Jackson is a 2007 graduate of Lander University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in African-American Studies. He went on to earn his master's in Sports Management/Administration from Liberty University as well as an associate's degree in Logistics, Material and Supply Chain Management from the Community College of the Air Force.
In 2015-16, he joined the basketball staff at his alma mater and helped lead the Bearcats to the Peach Belt Conference tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nine years.
A 2-time all-PBC player at Lander, Jackson scored 1,388 points and made 319 free throws and 214 three pointers -- all on the program’s career top 10 lists. He was a 3-time team captain and led the Bearcats to the 2006-07 PBC Tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Jackson, who was named PBC Player of the Week three times, was also three times Lander's team Most Valuable Player.
An all-state player from Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., Jackson was also a member of the all-Air Force basketball team, winning a Gold Medal in 2010.
Prior to Lander, Jackson served as the boys' basketball associate head coach and head junior varsity coach at West High School under Head Coach Mike Matheson. The Panthers reached the playoffs in two of Jackson's three seasons at West. During his tenure, Jackson coached, developed and mentored six All-Region performers.
He is married to the former TyJha Corbin of Columbia, S.C. The couple has one son, Jace Corbin.
