Luis H. Grangeiro joined the UT Arlington coaching staff August 2014. The Brazil native spent one season as the assistant coach at St. Stephen's Tennis Academy in the Junior League, then had the opportunity to become the graduate assistant at UT Arlington.
Grangeiro helped guide the Mavericks to a Sun Belt title in 2016, the first for the program since joining the Sun Belt in 2013-14. Under his direction, Jhonathan Gonzalez and Mauricio del Rio have become a nationally ranked doubles tandem and Sun Belt All-Conference first team.Â
Prior to UTA, Grangeiro played for Troy of the Sun Belt Conference. He was named first-team Academic All-Conference, and won the Sun Belt Championship in 2010.
Grangeiro transferred to Baylor University in 2012 to finish his career under head coach Matt Knoll. He won the Big 12 Championship. He graduated from Baylor with a degree in communication.
