David Subirats joined the UT Arlington coaching staff August 2014. Prior to becoming the men's and women's graduate assistant, Subirats was a student-athlete at UTA, playing under coach Diego Benitez.
After graduating from UTA with his degree in communication, Supirats went on to coach at Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona as an assistant coach to the Profession (ATP) and Junio (ITF) league.
As a player Subirats was named All-Southland Conference first team in singles and doubles, along with Southland Conference Honor Roll. He was also named Southland Conference Scholar Athlete of the year in 2012.
While a part of the UTA tennis team and under the direction of Benitez, Subirats helped his team win the Southland Conference Championship title in 2009-10 season.
