Erin Grant, a former four-year basketball letter winner at Texas Tech from 2002-06, played for Morrow at Mansfield High School from 1998-2002. Grant will work primarily with the guards and will assist with recruiting and film breakdown. In her two seasons with the Mavericks, Grant has helped lead the squad to a 56-37 overall record, three Southland Conference Tournament appearances and the program[apos]s second trip to the postseason[apos]s WNIT. At Mansfield, Grant led the Tigers to an unprecedented four consecutive state championships and is the only player in Texas High School Basketball history to win four consecutive class 5A state championships. A McDonald[apos]s All-American, Grant averaged 12.3 points, 7.4 assists and 4.3 steals as a senior and finished fourth nationally with 1,055 career assists. Grant started every game (158) but one in her four years at Texas Tech, where she led the Lady Raiders to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Elite Eight in 2003. She holds Big 12 Conference and Texas Tech records for career assists (844) and was named to All-Big 12 First Team twice and Second Team once. In 2003 Grant was named Co-Big 12 Freshman of the Year and was selected to play in the 2006 WBCA All-Star Challenge. Also in 2006 Grant was a Kodak/WBCA All-America finalist and AP All-America Honorable Mention. She won gold with USA Basketball at the 2005 World University Games and also played in the 2003 World University Games. Capping her career at Texas Tech, Grant was selected as an official candidate for the Naismith Trophy, presented annually to the top college player in America A 2006 WNBA draft pick by the Seattle Storm, Grant returned to the United States after leading Stockholm 08 to the Swedish Championship where she was named MVP of the tournament. She finished the WNBA season with the Houston Comets before returning to UTA for the start of the 2007-08 season.
