Dr. Allison V. Randall is an accomplished sports performance professional with more than a decade of experience developing elite athletes at the collegiate, professional, and international levels. She currently serves as the Director of Sports Performance for Women's Basketball at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she oversees strength and conditioning, speed development, injury prevention, recovery, return-to-play programming, and nutrition strategies for student-athletes.
Prior to joining UTA, Randall spent five years as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Women's Basketball at Vanderbilt University, helping athletes maximize performance through evidence-based training, sports technology, and comprehensive athlete monitoring systems. She has also held leadership positions at Virginia Tech, where she worked with multiple Olympic sports programs and contributed to facility development, staff education, and diversity initiatives.
A former Olympian, Dr. Randall represented her country in the discus throw at the 2012 Summer Olympics and competed internationally at the Pan American Games and CAC Games, earning a gold medal and multiple podium finishes. Her firsthand experience as an elite athlete informs her holistic approach to performance, blending sport science, coaching expertise, and athlete-centered development.
Dr. Randall holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from Virginia Tech, where her research focused on psychomotor skill instruction for athletic performance. She maintains numerous industry certifications, including Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting certification, Functional Movement Systems certification, Certified Nutrition Coach, and licensure as a Massage Therapist in Texas.
In addition to coaching, Dr. Randall is a sought-after speaker, educator, and contributor to the strength and conditioning profession. She has presented at national conferences, participated in leadership forums, and authored a chapter in The Professional's Guide to Strength & Conditioning, 2nd Edition. Her mission is to help athletes unlock their full potential through intentional training, education, recovery, and long-term performance development.
