Christina Melvin completed her second year as an assistant coach for the UT Arlington volleyball program in 2009.

Melvin came to UT Arlington after finishing her playing career as a two-year captain at Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. She began her collegiate playing career at Boise State, where she also served as a two-year captain with the Broncos. Melvin helped lead Texas State to a Southland Conference Tournament championship in 2005. She collected 494 career assists at Texas State. She played her first two seasons at Boise State where she appeared in 173 sets, led the team with 1,089 assists in 2004 and was named to the Academic All-WAC team in 2003.

Melvin enjoyed a standout prep career at Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, Colo. She was a four-time all-conference selection and named Class 5A All-State as a senior. A four-time Green Mountain H.S. team M.V.P., Melvin was also a USAV 18 Open Junior Olympic Gold Medalist.

The past five years Melvin has taught volleyball players of all ages the basic fundamentals of the sport. She was a camp counselor at the Plano Sports Authority Volleyball Camp and was the Setters Coach/All-Skills Coach (1999-2003) at the Front Range Volleyball Camp.
