Rebecca Landry enters her second year as an assistant coach for the UTA volleyball program in 2008. Landry[apos]s first collegiate coaching experience came at Southern Arkansas as a graduate assistant during the 2006 season. Prior to that, Landry spent a couple years at the Texas Sports Medicine Center in Tomball where she worked as a strength and conditioning coach and an exercise instructor. Landry played her college volleyball career at Southern Arkansas where she helped the team to a 62-62 record in her four years. She posted 189 kills, 517 assists, 50 service aces and 759 digs over her 93 match career. As a senior, Landry was named a co-captain and led the team with 283 digs. She posted a career-best 31 digs against Ouachita Baptist. She also added 22 digs against Harding and 17 digs against Central Arkansas. In her junior year, the Mule Riders enjoyed a successful season with a 22-12 mark and an 8-4 record in the Gulf South Conference. Landry also had her most productive campaign registering 115 kills (1.54 kpg), 32 service aces and 338 digs (3.13 dpg). Landry was named the GSC West Player of the Week on Oct. 5, 2003 after averaging 4.75 digs over three matches, including a 22-dig performance against Arkansas Tech. She recorded a double-double in the GSC Tournament with 15 kills and 19 digs against Alabama-Huntsville. Landry spent four semesters on the Dean[apos]s List, was a three-time member of the GSC academic honor roll and served as both secretary and president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Landry graduated from SAU in Dec. 2005, with a bachelor[apos]s degree in exercise science and is currently pursuing her master[apos]s degree.
