  • Title
    Head Coach
Beginning her fourth season as head coach, Lisa Love has already compiled an impressive list of achievements, reinforcing the tradition of winning in UTA volleyball.

Prior to leading the Lady Mavs to a 30-20 record and a second-place conference finish in 1983, Love was named the 1982 Southland Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Lady Mavs to their first-ever Southland Conference volleyball title. Her squad finished 29-17 overall with a perfect 5-0 conference record. Last year, UTA finished 21-16 with a 6-0 record in regular season conference play, only to finish second in the conference tournament.

Before coming to UTA, Love coached at Arlington Bowie High School for four years, amassing a total of 82 wins and 44 losses. In 1980 and 1981, her teams reached the state semifinals and regionals, respectively.

Other coaching honors for Love include 8-5A District Coach of the Year (1980), City Coach of the Year (1981) and West All-Star Coach Finalist (1980 and 1981).

Love attended Sam Houston High School in Arlington, where she was an all-district selection and chosen the team's MVP.

Following a family tradition, Love headed to Texas Tech University where she was an all-region selection during a four-year volleyball career. She was selected as team captain in 1977 and 1978, and she graduated with a degree in physical education in 1978.

An all-around sports enthusiast, Love enjoys most amateur sports. During her spare time, she participates in coach and player volleyball clinics throughout Texas. She will also be an assistant coach at this year's National Sports Festival in Baton Rouge, La.
