Steven Reynolds Jr. joins the Lady Mavs staff after spending the past 11 seasons as the head coach at South Bend Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana.
At South Bend Washington, Reynolds compiled a 189-89 overall record, winning five sectionals, three regionals, two semistates and a 2022 Class 3A state championship. Reynolds is the only African American head coach to win a state championships in South Bend high school sports history across any sport. In 2023, he was named a Naismith National High School Coach of the Year finalist.
Reynolds played collegiately at Western Michigan where he was an All-MAC Second Team selection in 2002 behind 16.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and still ranks fifth in program history with 31.7 minutes per game and third in single game three-pointers with eight.
He is the proud husband to Marcy Reynolds and the father of seven: Mila, Amiyah, Kira, Steven III, Jordan, Aubrey and Tristian.
