Zach Cole

Zach Cole joined the UT Arlington men's golf program as an assistant coach in June of 2023. That came on the heels of Cole serving in the same role with UTA's women's golf program from 2021-23 following a strong playing career as an undergrad with the Maverick men.

During the 2022-23 season with the women's program, Cole guided freshman Madison Le to 53 birdies – representing the 6th-most birdies in a single season in program history. Cole helped improve the team's par-3 scoring average as well, and the Mavs produced the 6th-best 36-hole total (600) during the season-opening USA Intercollegiate in September.

In his first season with the women's team in 2021-22, Cole helped improve UTA's numbers with 240 birdies – 102 more than the previous season – and a 4.39 par-4 scoring average. Cole also aided in the squad producing its second-best single-season team scoring average in program lore with a 309.06 across 33 rounds.

Cole has also caddied for numerous players at several different events, highlighted by being on the bag for former UTA head coach Stuart Deane at the 2017 PGA Championship from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

A native of Fort Worth, Cole's initial foray into UTA came as a freshman in 2016-17, utilizing a redshirt season. Over the ensuing four years, beginning in 2017-18, he played in 13 tournaments with a scoring average of 76.51 over 39 rounds.

Cole’s best performance came in the fall of 2021 with consecutive rounds of 68 and a career-best 67 in the first two rounds of the Little Rock Invitational in October. At the time of his graduation, that 135 (-9) total through 36 holes was tied for the 2nd-best in program history, bettered only by a 134 (-10) from Tyrone Mordt at the 2005 Northwest Collegiate Classic.

Cole graduated from UTA in 2021 and from Arlington Heights High School in 2016.
