EULESS, Texas - UTA golfers Marc Campbell (Southlake, Texas) and Zach Reeves (Mansfield, Texas) fired final round scores of 71 and 78, respectively, to complete play at the Collegiate Players Tour Championship here Thursday, Aug. 13. Campbell shot a three-over-par 216 at the Texas Star Golf Club to tie for sixth place, five shots behind winner Franklin Corpening's 211 (71-69-71). Campbell, who tied for 48th at the 98th Southern Amateur Golf Championship near Ooltewah, Tenn. last month, posted steady rounds of 73-72-71. Reeves, who recently advanced to the quarterfinals of the 79th U.S. Amateur Public Links Championships, fired a 78 on the final day after a 75-73 on the Euless course. His three-round total of 226 tied for 21st place with Dillon Gooch of Salado. UTA opens the 2004 fall season at the Nike/Northwest Collegiate Classic in Corvallis, Ore. - utamavs.com -
