AMES, Iowa - Senior distance runner Lisa Haglund clocked a personal-best time of 4:58.03 to win the women's one-mile run at the NCAA Last-Chance Qualifiers Meet here on March 5.
No UTA athletes qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships March 11-12 in Fayetteville, Ark.
Other UTA performances in Ames, include:
- Shay Collett recorded a season-best vault of 16-feet, 2.75 inches to finish in seventh place.
- Kelly Jackson (Baltimore, Md.) was ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 56-feet, 2-inches.
- Paul Whitty clocked a season-best time of 8.02 in the 60-meter hurdles for 10th place.
- Senior distance runner Jacob Cedertun placed 20th in the 800 meters with a 1:52.47.
UTA will be represented in the NCAA's by senior pole vaulter Levi Armstrong (Alvin, Texas). He won the Houston Indoor on Feb. 12 with a school-indoor record of 17-01.75.
The UTA outdoor track and field season begins March 18-19 at the Whataburger/UTSA Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
