MAVS FALLS TO BISON 59-54 AT WINGATE INN CLASSIC

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Despite leading for most of the game UT Arlington fell 59-54 to Montana State in first round action at the Wingate Inn Thanksgiving Classic Friday night. Seniors Terra Wallace and Ashley Bobb led the Mavs scoring 16 and 14 points respectively.

UTA took a 4-3 lead three minutes into the first half and did not relinquish it until the last two minutes of the game. The Bison held the Mavericks scoreless in the last six minutes of the game to seal the win.

Senior Tojjinay Thompson gave UTA its biggest lead of the first half 26-15 with 4:13 left and the Mavs took a nine point advantage into the locker room.

Two minutes into the second half Maryann Abanobi increased the Maverick lead to 15 (36-21). With back-to-back threes Lisa Bue sparked a Bison 28-11 run and as a team the Bison hit five from behind the arch in the last 12 minutes of action to take the win.

UTA will face the loser of the Cal State Fullerton/Montana State game in the consolation game Sat. (11/25) at 6 p.m.
